A Brief History
At the turn of the millennium a group of students got together and decided to start a student society, based in London, to promote human dignity, social action and study of related issues amongst their peers- People First Society. People First organised development conferences, workshops, projects and careers conferences to encourage people to work in development and the third sector.
Ten years later, many of the original crew, and those who were inspired by them, have continued to work in these areas after graduating, and now live across the globe, still carrying out in practical ways the aspirations of the year 2000: to make a better world.
WONDER seeks to bring together their experience, knowledge and resources, to share best practice so that the communities we work with and belong to are best served.
We have finally got ourselves consituted and are now ready for more organized action! Although we are based in London we have representatives all over the world, such as Maria in Colombia, Carol in the Philippines, Nuala in Kenya and Dan in China.
